Public Transport: A scheduled bus service between Caernarfon and Nebo via Penygroes runs Monday to Saturday along the road passing Bwthyn Llŷs Twrog. Change at Caernarfon or Penygroes for other bus services. There are several local taxi firms. The nearest main line train station is at Bangor, 16 miles (25 kilometres) away.  

Shops: There is a small village shop within walking distance at Canolfan Y Fron. It stocks the basics and is open 9-5 with reduced hours on Sunday.  There are several shops including a small supermarket, convenience store, bakery and chemist in Penygroes (2.6 miles / 4.2 km). There are also convenience stores at Dolydd and Bontnewydd. A wider range of shops including three supermarkets can be found in Caernarfon, 7 miles (11 km) from the Bwthyn.

Banks: There is a Post Office and an ATM in Penygroes. There are branches of 2 major banks, 2 building societies  and several ATMs in Caernarfon. All major UK banks have branches in Bangor.

Pubs: The nearest pub is in Groeslon, about 2 miles (3 km)  from the Bwthyn and there is also a pub in Penygroes. Neither pub serves food. The nearest pubs serving food are in Waunfawr (4 miles/ 6.5 km via a very narrow road), Llandwrog (4.1 miles/ 6.6 km) and Bontnewydd (4.4 miles/ 7.1 km). Most of the pubs in Caernarfon serve food.

Takeaway Food:  Penygroes has Chinese, Indian and Pizza/Kebab takeaways, as well as two Fish & Chip shops. 

Restaurants: A choice of restaurants can be found in Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Criccieth, Pwllheli and Menai Bridge. For a special dining experience there is a Michelin starred restaurant near Bontnewydd, 4.3 miles (7 km) away.

Cycle & Car Hire: Cycles can be hired in Caernarfon. Car hire is available in Caeathro near Caernarfon.

Fuel & Electric Car Charging: Petrol and diesel can be obtained at Dolydd, 3 miles (4.7km) away. An Electric Vehicle charger is available at Bwthyn Llŷs Twrog for overnight charging of guests’ vehicles. The charger has a Type 2 plug and 7.4 kWh capacity. The nearest fast charger is at Pant Du Vineyard near Penygroes, 2.6 miles / 4.2 km from the Bwthyn.

Cafes:There is a basic cafe at nearby Canolfan Y Fron staffed by volunteers. Its opening hours are limited and variable. There are four cafes in and around Penygroes and one by the A487 between Penygroes and Groeslon.
